A trip to Waltham wouldn't be complete without a stroll along the Moody and Main Street Retail District, a throwback to the golden days of downtown shopping areas. Located in the city's heart near the Charles River, Moody and Main Streets were for years the hub of activity for residents and visitors of all ages. In its heyday, the area was bustling with ornate theatres, department stores, soda fountains, and emporiums to suit any need.

Today, the district is a revitalized city center which harks back to the good old days. As you browse the eclectic stores, including the original Jordan's Furniture (a Waltham landmark), antique shops and creative toy stores, you may notice your tastebuds beginning to tingle. That's because the Moody/Main district is a cosmopolitan "Restaurant Row," with countless opportunities for ethnic, upscale, downscale, and good old American cuisine. Make sure you time your shopping around lunch or dinner ‚ you won't regret or forget it.
